These camps are for
swimmers
who already know the fundamental mechanics of the competitive swim strokes,
freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly and are ready to take
their strokes and races to the next
level. Each week campers will work on stroke mechanics, pacing,
starts, turns, and building endurance.
Swimmers will receive individual
instruction with an emphasis on personal improvement during the camp.
Like all programs at WAAC, swimmers will receive lots of encouragement.
These camps are ideal for any older elementary school, or middle school
swimmers who want to learn more about the mechanics of strokes, turns, and
starts and how to utilize this knowledge to make their own swimming better!

General Information
This year campers will be dropped off at the gray house. It is the
second drive past WAAC's parking lot. It is gravel so if you don't
want to drive down it, park in the spaces closest to Barton Creek Elementary
School and take the foot path to the gray house. Campers should come dressed in bathing suit with T-shirt,
and easy to get on and off shoes.
Campers will need a towel and goggles, if they wear them. They should come with
sun screen applied and bring sunscreen which we reapply at snack time. We
have a water fountain, but they may wish to bring a water bottle. Other
things they may wish to bring are caps, sun glasses, and money to buy a
snack card. We serve a free snack every day, for example oranges and
graham crackers, but they are welcome to bring a snack from home.
Snack cards are sold for $5 and campers may purchase snacks at the Camp
Snack Bar. On
Fridays, towards the end of camp, parents are invited to watch a mini swim
meet. There is an awards ceremony after the meet. WAAC Camps meet
regardless of weather. During rain the campers will move under tents
for rainy day activities.
