Keeping everyone active and happy makes the summer fun for the whole family. WAAC's camps and lessons offer instruction for kids while adults can lap swim, play tennis, and work out in the fitness center.

Water Sports Camp
For Ages 7-14

Have you ever wanted to learn to do a back dive?
Would you like to learn to make a goal while swimming?
Would you like to learn to butterfly?
Do you like playing sharks and minnows?
Diving, water games, and swimming!! Keep kids active through Water Sports camp where campers work on basic skills of aquatic sports with an emphasis on having a great time!! Water sports include water polo, Marco Polo, water basketball, sharks and minnows, and more! Campers receive instruction each day in spring board diving. The camp also has instruction in swimming focusing on freestyle technique and water polo drills. Camps are one week. Campers should be comfortable in deep water and be able to motor across WAAC's dive pool (about 30 feet in 10 foot deep water) using any method in order to attend this camp. Each day will end with free swim in WAAC's pools. Campers are provided a healthy snack each afternoon and rest in between the rigorous activities. Water Sports Camp is for campers aged 7 and older. It provides a great introduction to aquatic sports in an environment emphasizing personal improvement and having fun!! This is a great opportunity for young athletes to try these sports with a bonus of beating the Texas heat!!

Cost $125 (WAAC members receive a 10% discount)

M- Morning 9 am-noon

Campers can come early, stay late or come at noon and join lunch bunch
To stay from 8 am-5:30 pm (All Day Camp), Campers choose a morning and afternoon camp

Early Drop 8-9 am $40 (1 week)
Lunch Bunch (bring sack lunch or purchase lunch at WAAC for $7, and have lunch and play games with the counselors) noon - 1 pm $30 (1 week)
Late Stay 4-5:30 $50 (1 week)
One week All Day 8am-5:30pm $290

Info about Water Sports Camp:

Campers have pick up and drop off in the camp area by the Gray House. There is a gravel drive to this area at WAAC. It is the first drive, past the driveway to WAAC's paved parking lot. If you prefer not to drive on the gravel, turn to the left in WAAC's lot, park, and walk along the footpath. Campers should bring a bathing suit, t-shirt, easy to get on and off shoes, and towel and may want to bring goggles, sunglasses, cap, water bottle, and money for the camp snack bar. Campers are welcome to wear UV protection t-shirts in the water. Campers may wish to bring shorts and t-shirts for after camp or to wear in case of rainy or cool weather. A snack is provided each day such as oranges and graham crackers, but campers are welcome to also bring a snack from home. Campers may purchase a snack card for $5 to buy snacks from the Camp Snack Bar. Campers should apply sun screen before arriving to camp and we will apply again at snack time. Please use sun screen designed to go in and out of the water.
